Hosco supplies a wide array of Fluoropolymer tubing to meet the needs of the paint finishing customers we serve. It is available in four different resins (FEP, PTFE, PFA and FlexLife™ Ultra High Purity PFA) and multiple sizes from 1/8” (3mm) to 7/8” (22.2mm) ID and 3/16” (4.76mm) to 1” (25.4mm) OD tubes (sizes above 3/8” (or 10mm) ID are generally used for site tubes). Fluoropolymer tubing is generally used in challenging applications to speed up flushing or cleaning of paint lines (due to its low coefficient of friction) or to provide containment of electrostatic charge from ground or voltage bleed off in high transfer efficiency painting (due to its high dielectric strength). FEP and PFA resin are used to provide site tubes due to its transparency for any fluid system where seeing the tube interior is required (like piggable systems at the pig launch or pig catch areas). PTFE is opaque. In general, FEP and PFA tubes are stiffer and have approximately 25% greater burst pressure strength than the other Fluoropolymer resin types of tubing.
Feature and Benefits
Low Coefficient of Friction
- Facilitates faster material (color) changes in valve packages
- Uses less cleaning solvents to flush and clean, minimizing waste
High Dielectric Strength Resin
- Protects against voltage bleed off, maintaining TE in electrostatic spray or charging systems
- Protects against hose or tube breakdown due to pin holing or electrostatic burn through to adjacent grounds
Widest Variety of Size and Resin Types
- Hosco Fluoropolymer selections are widest and best of all supplier choices to meet paint, coating and solvent fluid needs
